Having grown bored with Wow, I've been waiting on a beta invite to see some new content. I have a 70 destro lock and a 70 holy priest I would love to test changes with. My toons have been 70 for over a year now, got some gold stashed away, and raiding has just lost it's luster. A fellow guildie of mine has been lucky enough to get an invite, but no luck for me, or for my hubby. It's doubtful we'll get a beta invite in our inboxes before the new expansion is released, but we keep checking anyway!
Invites seem to be going out in "waves". At first, the phases were spread out by about 5 days or so, but two recent phases were within a day of each other. One would assume as Blizzard gets closer to release, more and more invites will be going out, but that's just my personal speculation.
On the Official World of Warcraft forums, Syrilrian has been kind of enough to keep track of invite waves for those of us still anxiously waiting to get in. Syrilrian's post is titled Passing Time: Up-to-date OPT-IN info (linking to the current thread), and you can view the date and time of each invite wave sent out. The posts fill quickly, reaching maximum replies, and you may have to go back a page to find the most recent if it hasn't been bumped.
The last 3 waves sent out:
Wave 9 for opt-ins has gone out as of 9/11/08 at 9:50am
Wave 8 for opt-ins has gone out as of 9/10/08 at 6:00pm
Wave 7 for opt-ins has gone out as of 9/3/08 at 9:10pm
